Iqalugaarjuup Nunanga (Meliadine River) Nunavut Territorial Park
This marvellous site of historical significance is just north of Rankin Inlet, Nunavut. Iqalugaarjuup Nunanga means “the land around the river of little fishes” in Inuktitut, the language of the Inuit.
See ancient campsites of the Thule people, relatively undisturbed for centuries.The park’s most outstanding feature is the historic site Qamaviniqtalik (“place of ancient sod houses”) and its interpretive walking trail.
