Nunanga (Meliadine River) Nunuavut Territorial Park
This marvellous
site of historical significance is just north of Rankin Inlet, Nunavut.
Iqalugaarjuup Nunaga means the land around the river of little
fishes in Inuktitut, the language of the Inuit.
See ancient
campsites of the Thule
people, relatively undisturbed for centuries.The parks most
outstanding feature is the historic site Qamaviniqtalik (place
of ancient sod houses) and its interpretive walking trail.
